Blood and FirePursued and damaged by repeated Klingon attacks, the crew of the Enterprise must respond to the distress call from a Federation research ship. In a matter of hours the ship and crew will be consumed by a nearby star and the crew of the Enterprise will be consumed by an mysterious horror that threatens both ships as the Klingons watch and wait.
The horrific story finds a battle damaged Enterprise caught between an incurable contagion that threatens to overrun the galaxy, the pull of a dying star, and Klingons poised to attack. Like all of the best Star Trek episodes, “Blood and Fire” finds the Enterprise crew facing their own human fears and failings as they have to weigh the costs and decide how much personal risk to take in order to save the people around them. Gerrold wrote the story of contagion as a metaphor for the AIDS pandemic and the episode is dedicated to the gifted Star Trek alumni the world has lost to the disease: William Ware Thesis, Mike Minor and Merritt Butrick. It was also Gerrold’s intention to challenge the apathy of the public regarding the small sacrifice, yet far reaching power, of blood donations. Based on an original TNG script that was shelved because of the mention of a gay crewman aboard the Enterprise, “Blood and Fire” for Star Trek New Voyages: Phase II honors Gene Roddenberry’s vision of a non-judgmental future with the inclusion of a gay couple as part of the principle action of the story. David Gerrold directed the episode which features guest stars Denise Crosby (“Tasha Yar” from TNG), Bill Blair and Evan Fowler; and reintroduces the character of Captain Kirk’s nephew, Peter, played by Bobby Rice. This episode was originally released in two parts with a massive cliffhanger at the end of part 1. Instead of watching the episode in two parts, you can now watch the whole story in the 90 minute "Movie" version. Most people prefer to watch the movie we have found and is the only version with english subtitles. |

4Eo6 - Enemy: StarfleetAttacked while exploring a new sector of space, Captain James T. Kirk and his crew find themselves thrust in the middle of a war. The USS Eagle, lost eight years before, is now in the clutches of a woman who bends starships and their captains to her will and has been reverse engineered into a fleet that is bent on domination and genocide. The Enterprise may be the only ship able to stop the Peshan homeworld from falling to Alersa and her enemy starfleet.
Guest starring BarBara Luna and Paul R. Sieber, Enemy: Starfleet was written by prolific Trek novelist Dave Galanter and award-winning fanfiction author Patty Wright. Principal photography took place in June 2008, with location filming in autumn 2009. Directed by Ben Tolpin and Vic Mignogna, the episode introduces Brandon Stacy as "Spock" and Jonathan Zungre as "Chekov". Visual effects were provided by the D.A.V.E. School at Universal Studios in Florida, Juve Vique and Tobias Richter of Cologne, Germany. The episode has been edited by Brian Q. Kelley in Los Angeles, CA. Veteran actress and Star Trek alumni Barbara Luna ("Marlena Moreau" of "Mirror, Mirror") joined the cast of "Enemy: Starfleet" as as a space terrorist that steals a starship and retro-engineers it to create a marauding fleet. "Luna" had this to say about her experience: "...my discovery was that your special love and devotion for Star Trek with a loyalty that lives in your hearts, which gives you a very deep connection to each other, allowing everyone in your presence to feel that joy. ...it is an experience worth treasuring forever..." The production of the episode, written by prolific Trek novelist Dave Galanter and award winning fanfic writer Patty Wright, was hampered by acts of nature, but Senior Executive Producer James Cawley is thrilled with what was accomplished. "What I'm seeing is flawless: the best we've ever done," he said. "This is Star Trek." |

4V2 - no Win ScenarioAfter being pitted against Kirk in a Klingon version of the “no-win scenario,” Kargh would hunger for the day when he and Kirk would meet for real. His hunger is soon satisfied!
Starring John Carrigan, Anne Carrigan and James Cawley, the vignette features appearances by Larry Nemecek, Jeff Quinn, Julienne Irons, Andy Bray, and Paul R. Sieber. Written by Erik Korngold, directed by Erik J. Goodrich, and with updated VFX by Pony R. Horton and Tobias Richter of The Light Works. Originally filmed in 2005, this vignette is only made available to fans due to the stalwart perseverance of John Carrigan, with assistance from Graham O’Hare, and Pony R. Horton. John tracked down the original lost footage and made sure scenes that required re-shoots or pickups were done during various other Phase II shoots over time. Post production was supervised rigorously by John and completed in the United Kingdom. Presented as a surprise birthday gift from John Carrigan to James Cawley on set in June 2011, it is now available for fans to enjoy this historic look back at what was then “Star Trek: New Voyages”! |

4V3 - 1701 Pennsylvania AvWhat would it be like if president Richard Nixon was a big Star Trek fan? Nixon was elected US-president in both 1968 and 1972, but he had to resign after a scandal broke about members of his staff bugging meetings in the Watergate hotel in Washington, D.C., and recordings of the president’s activities lacked 18 minutes that were never recovered.
President Nixon just loved to secretly record everything that occurred in the oval office. Phone calls, personal and political conversations, meetings. Everything got recorded on audiotape. But what happened on a very special night in 1969 when President Nixon forgot the tape recorder was recording? His secret service detail, Agent Smith, has the dubious job of keeping the president's imagination on the ground: "And I thought Johnson was a handful!" |

4E07 - The ChildWhile the Enterprise passes through a strange energy cloud, a mysterious light force enters the ship and impregnates Ensign Isel who, within days, gives birth to a baby girl, Irska. The child grows up at a tremendous rate and while she appears to be human, it is feared she could endanger the ship after a strange alien spacecraft appears and puts everyone in jeopardy….
The Phase II team has struck up quite a relationship with Jon Povill, the writer of "The Child." Jon was never really happy with how his story got revised and realized on TNG. So this is an opportunity to get the story made the way Jon originally wanted it--and he's even directing it. So, in this case, it's not that we'll get James and Company's unique spin; it's that we'll get the unique spin that Jon Povill the writer had intended in the first place. So how will the story be different? What is it that Jon wanted to say that didn't get said back in TNG? Now you can finally watch it and see.... Whereas the majority of the visual effects were made by Pony Horton, Tobias Richter, provided the space related visual effects for this Phase II episode: "The Child". We are proud to have Tobias join our team and enjoyed seeing his impressive visual effects in this episode - the first German-American co-production for Phase II. |

4E08 - Kitumba"Kitumba" depicts the Enterprise on a suicide mission to the heart of the Klingon Empire. Pulled in every direction by warlords and people that have their own agenda, the Kitumba suddenly finds himself confronting his very enemy: Captain James Kirk and the Enterprise. The choices he makes will resonate through the galaxy for years to come.
The extended-length episode will not only explore Klingon society and show us the home planet, but will bridge the gap between the TOS Klingon Empire and Klingon Empire we saw in the feature films. "Kitumba" includes a cast of 36 with 59 extras - sporting ridges as well as TOS Klingon makeup. Introducing Kario Periera Bailey as the Kitumba, special surprise guest stars for the episode include Gil Gerard and Andrew Probert. Actor Kario Pereira Bailey will be taking on the role of the Klingon Emperor in "Kitumba". Kario was featured in both "Vermont Stories" and "The Voices Project", and has a wealth of theatre experience. In a classic story of the power struggle to gain control of a government, Kario will be portraying the young man at the heart of it all. The Well known Star Trek designer and illustrator Andrew Probert will be contributing a design for a Klingon Fighter craft for "Kitumba." "I have been occasionally dropping in on the [Star Trek: Phase II] website to see what's been going on. When it turned out that James and I were at the same convention and probably being the only person in Star Trek not involved in his projects, I couldn't resist running over and introducing myself". James mentioned that he might need some Klingon designs for an upcoming episode, and since he was currently involved in producing a model of his Klingon fighter concept, with Federation Models, he thought James might want to use it for his show. "It will be great to have Andrew Probert designed elements in "Kitumba" - I'm really looking forward to seeing his work in this episode," said Executive Producer James Cawley. "Kitumba" was written by Patty Wright, from an original two-part story concept by John Meredyth Lucas for the aborted Paramount "Phase II" series written in 1977. A producer during the second season of The Original Series, he also directed three episodes and wrote four including "Patterns of Force" and "Elaan of Troyus". "Mr. Lucas passed away some time ago," said Cawley, "Kitumba is being produced as a tribute to Him for all his many wonderful contributions to Trek. We do have to re write and update some, but we feel the story is in good hands." "Kitumba" has long been on Star Trek fan\'s "most wished for to be produced" list. The episodes would have been the first in-depth look at the culture and civilization of the Klingon Empire. Updated for Star Trek New Voyages: Phase II to reconcile with Star Trek canon filmed since Lucas first wrote his drafts, the story was thought too monumental an undertaking for any fan film. The ambitious script called for two days of location shooting at the National Historic Site Fort Ticonderoga, New York (www.fort-ticonderoga.org ); and an additional day of location shooting at a local restaurant in Ticonderoga, New York. Thanks to the magnificant teamwork of the entire Phase II production staff, the filming went off without so much as a hitch and the episode came in, complete, only 5 hours over the planned shooting schedule of 13 days. Principle photography was completed on June 15, 2009. |

4E09 - Mind-SifterWhen the crew of the Enterprise is forced to accept the death of Captain Kirk, Spock and McCoy must come to terms with their own grief, but when Spock discovers a plot by the Klingons to send Kirk back in time in order to destroy the Federation, it will take all the courage and abilities of the crew of the Enterprise to rescue their beloved Captain in time before he succumbs to the horrific torture of the Mind-Sifter.
Greetings folks. It’s me! The director of Mind Sifter. James Cawley requested I give you all an update on how things are going. For those of you not interested in reading this novel, to sum up: things are FANTASTIC! This episode of STPII/NV embodies the true heart and soul of Gene’s Star Trek, and has performances from our beloved actors Brian Gross, Brandon Stacy, Charles Root Jr, Robert Whithrow and others which are deeper and more vulnerable than we’ve ever seen. We’re also introducing several new additions to the team including Shyaporn Theerakulstit (Sulu), Jasmine Pierce (Uhura), Clay Sayre (Kor), and, not to be left out, our New McCoy, the unstoppable Jeff Bond. And, of course, the brilliant actress playing our female protaganist, Dr. Hamlin, is none other than Rivkah Raven Wood. We also had the incredible honor of working with master cinematographer Jeff Barklage who studied Finnerman’s work so well (even worked with him), that our colorist Bing Bailey said, “this looks BETTER than TOS….” I can’t agree more. Folks, this is an unprecedented time in the legacy of James Cawley’s vision of Star Trek: New Voyages/Phase II. We’ve moved to a new studio that allows for flying walls, much more space and EVEN MORE (if it were possible) accurate props and sets. We’ve been able to streamline production to the point where we shot a 72 page script in, basically, 10 days. Now, it was brutal on the crew, but it serves to show how committed everyone is on the production team and how much value those of you who have donated to this production will receive. The tight ship has just become a LOT tighter. We have created 180 visual effects shots which include everything from the standard fare Star Trek elements to a few surprises. This herculean work is being spear headed by the incredible talents of Pony Horton. Pony is also heading up a new-blood team of VFX artists from the Phase II/New Voyages family which is very exciting. Heck, even I’m going to be doing a few shots in Davinci (a formerly $50,000 color timing editor). Venerable VFX genius Tobias Richter is also getting involved. And, of course, returning from his directing of The Holiest Thing, is Star Trek Phase II/New Voyages pillar Daren R. Dochterman who has made 20 shots of our favorite lady in space for the retro version. Jeff Bond (yes our McCoy), has done the music edit, and it is one of the most moving scores from TOS I’ve ever heard assembled. He’s pulling on cues and mixes that no one has ever heard, and it is a real treat when you’re able to move with the emotional tapestry he’s woven for us. We have the distinct privilege and honor to have one of the greatest sound designers on the planet to have joined our team: Frank Serafine (Star Trek TMP, TRON, Tron Legacy, Hunt for Red October…). He headed up a team of Los Angeles professionals and members of our Star Trek family to complete the audio of the 65 minute production. Talents like Jesse Akins, Ken Givens, Joseph David Spence, Jeff Spencer, Shawn Tabor, Alex McDonald, and others. For me, productions like this are all about team effort. Just because we CAN do a lot of work with few people, doesn’t mean we should, and when there’s so MUCH work to do in little time, expanding the talent pool – especially when the whole process is under the watchful eye of Frank, is a no brainer. |

4E10 - The Holiest ThingCaptain James T. Kirk's (Brian Gross) first encounter with the charismatic scientist Doctor Carol Marcus (Jacy King), who is specialised in Terraforming. Carol is the woman who one day will mother Kirk`s son David and also break his heart. Doctor Marcus is leading a terraforming project on Planet Lappa III that goes horribly wrong and devastates the planet. Was it her fault? Or is a mysterious black market operation behind the catastrophe? Kirk and the crew of the refitted, USS Enterprise, investigate.
This is the second script that award-winning author Rick Chambers has written for “New Voyages” and Retro Film Studios. In 2012 Brian Gross (his other films include “2001 Maniacs” alongside Horrorfilm legend Robert Englund) took over the role of “Kirk” from James Cawley in the episode “Bread and Savagery”, also written by Mr. Chambers. |

4E11 - Torment of destiny“Torment of Destiny” is the thirteenth episode of Star Trek New Voyages and is written by Rick Chambers. This episode is a sequel to the original series episode “For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky”. Rivkah Raven Wood guest stars as Natira, the High Priestess of Yonada, Clay Sayre as President Ro’Kail, Rebecca Larken as To’Rya, and special guest star Richard Hatch (Captain Apollo from the original Battlestar Galactica) as Orthros. The crew painstakingly recreated the Oracle Room set from the original episode. Natira’s wig and dress were also recreated to near perfection.
Production of this episode began July 10th and ended July 24th 2015 on location and at the Desilu Studios in Ticonderoga, New York. Update Feb. 2018: Due to the CBS Fan-Film Guidelines, post-production work on this episode has been halted. All scenes have been filmed, but there are about 180 visual effects that need to be added to the episode, which would be many months of work. As two of our three visual effects experts can no longer work on the project due to the restrictions of the Fan-Film guidelines, completion of this episode cannot continue without special permission being granted from CBS. This is unlikely during release of Discovery and we are unsure if this episode will ever be permitted to be completed. We understand this is disappointing for our loyal fans, but we are not responsible for the events that led up to the release of those guidelines. |
